At Faithlegg NS, we believe that primary school should be a happy, safe and memorable part of a child’s life. Our aim is to create a school where children feel that they belong, where they are known and valued as individuals, and are encouraged to be curious and enthusiastic learners.

We are proud of our strong sense of community and of the positive relationships that exist between our pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.

Our school is a busy and vibrant place, with a strong focus on both learning and the development of the whole child. Faithlegg NS has a warm, friendly and vibrant atmosphere where every child is supported to learn, grow and reach their potential - with a focus on the academic, personal, social and cultural development of every child.

We are fortunate to be located in a beautiful part of Waterford, where our surroundings provide wonderful opportunities to bring learning outdoors and to develop a strong appreciation of the natural world. The Minaun is a regular destination for local nature walks and outdoor learning, giving our pupils the opportunity to explore, observe and learn from the environment on our doorstep. We are also fortunate to have the nearby Cheekpoint playground, which provides another valued space for our children to play, explore and enjoy time together beyond the classroom throughout the year.

We are a school for all, and want our pupils to discover their own interests and talents and, importantly, to have the opportunity to experience things that may be new to them. Alongside the core curriculum, our children have opportunities to take part in sport, music, the arts, technology, competitions, school events and a wide range of activities throughout the year.

We recognise and celebrate the different strengths, personalities, abilities and interests that each pupil brings to our school. We work hard to ensure that every child is supported, encouraged and given the opportunity to achieve their potential.

Our teachers, SNAs and support staff bring great care, professionalism and commitment to their work each day. We draw on the talents and skills of our staff to provide an extensive range of opportunities. Every member of our team strives to ensure all students are happy, cared for, valued and respected while fostering an atmosphere where pupils can learn, ask questions, make mistakes, develop confidence and enjoy coming to school.

We have an active and supportive Parents’ Association and a wonderful community that collaborates with us in the best interests of the children, which helps create a stronger and more positive school experience for everyone.
